Talk
about a windfall! The world's most famous Playboy Playmate, Anna
Nicole Smith, has been awarded a huge US$449 million in her fight
for her late husband's estate.
The busty
Anna Nicole, who married billionaire oil baron J.Howard Marshall
in 1994, when she was 26 and he was 89, has been battling it out
with her, er, stepson, 61-year-old Pierce Marshall. Pierce's solicitors
argued that while J. Howard may have loved his wife, he never
left her any money from his $1.6 billion estate.
But Anna Nicole
testified that her husband, who was wheelchair-bound, had promised
several times that he would leave her half of his immense wealth.
She said the geriatric billionaire was so captivated when he first
saw her as she performed a strip routine at a club in Houston,
he vowed to give her half of everything he owned, if she agreed
to become his wife. "This was one of the ways he wanted to
hurry me up and marry me," she told the court. "He
loved me, and I loved him."
Not surprisingly,
Anna Nicole, whose real name is Vicki Lynn Hogan, is over the
moon with the judgement. "I'm so excited," she said,
joyfully. "No-one ever took care of me in my whole life,
and this man did, and I love him for that."
"I hope
it ends up that I get everything that he wanted me to have."
No doubt.
Also no surprise
is the fact that Pierce Marshall, who is fighting with his older
brother, as well, over their father's estate, will appeal the
decision. He's called the ruling a "miscarriage of justice
that is not supported by the facts." vote
again: "Will you
marry an old billionaire for money?"
