 Eliot
Whittall and Richard Shon formed their partnership in 1985. Eliot
began his designing days shortly after graduating from the Rhode
Island School of Design. Richard Shon joined him after graduating
from Stanford University and working two years in the fashion business
in Paris.
Whittall and Shon began their menswear line in 1993 when
they opened their first retail store in Miami’s South Beach. The
store provided a fun and funky environment for their already established
line of women’s designer hats and became an outlet for them to design
an eclectic, hip line for men.
 Their
menswear started as casual workout clothing using 100% of the best
cotton in witty tanks and muscles that have become their signature.
Two years after introducing their tops they added workout shorts,
running pants, and swimwear, all with their unique twist. Their
location on South Beach’s coolest street gave them the stamp of
approval from the international set that frequented their store.
Visitors to Miami had begun to bring Whittall and Shon’s clothing
home with them requests poured in from other parts of the country
and abroad for their merchandise. 
Today the line has expanded to include their original, dressy, fitted
club shirts and unique jeans in every imaginable fabric. They are
sold in specialty boutiques across the United States and abroad.
Last year they opened their second store in New York’s Greenwich
Village infusing it with some of Miami’s sultry campiness .
